The Penny Meditation
The Penny Meditation
Some years ago, I was in a guided meditation at my local spiritualist church and the latter part of the meditation stuck with me to this day. I share it and its ongoing meaning every chance I get. Serving Spiritualist Churches gives me a wonderful platform to share my spiritual experiences. And now I would like to share this one with you.
Half way through the meditation I had been meeting with a loved one on top of a hill and I was instructed to walk down the hill where I would be met by a guide. I did this and was greeted by a man dressed in white robes with long flowing white hair and a beard. I now know him as Jacob and he has been one of my guides ever since that day.
He handed me a bright new shiny penny and he said that this penny would buy me one day on the earth plane. He said that I could make this day what ever picture or colours I chose and he explained that each day was like a blank canvas on which I would create a picture and each moment was like the wool on a loom passing through each row with the colour of that moment, gradually building into a picture, row by row. At the end of that day, I would have the picture that had been created moment by moment. I could chose to be happy, sad, loving, excited, fearful. serene, grateful and that was the colour of that moment and so on
I understood and then he put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a small hessian bag. As he handed it to me, I could feel it was filled with coins. You might as well have this, he said. Its the rest of your pennies and when its empty, you’re coming home.
Ever since that day, I find pennies jump out at me from random places and the message I get from that is “How are you spending your penny today?” I only have so many and I don’t want to waste a single one. I have no idea how many pennies are in the bag but each one is precious. If I find myself worrying about a bill or some such thing, I put it in the grand scheme of things and know that its not worth the energy and I move on to better things worthy of my time and in the moment of right now.
I have included a couple of pictures. One is of the day I picked up my boyfriends jeans to wash and a penny fell out and straight onto my big toe. I just HAD to take a picture of that one. Also there is the one I found in the seal of the washing machine. I could list them forever and each one makes me smile.
I hear people reporting back that after they have become aware of my little story, they start finding pennies of their own. Please feel free to share in the remarks section if you have a penny come to you and tell us how it affected you..
Namaste xx
